Braised Pork Belly
Braised Pork Belly (Bossam, 보쌈)
Bossam is Korean braised pork dish commonly using pork belly. It is typically served in sliced cut with lettuce, fermented shrimp, Kimchi and occasionally fresh oyster.
- Large pot
- 2 whole Fresh pork belly about 3-inch wide cut
- 1/2 medium onion
- 7-8 garlic cloves
- 1 inch ginger sliced piece
- 1 tsp whole black pepper
- 1 tbsp soybean paste
- 1 tbsp instant coffee
- 2 bay leaves
- 10 cups water
- Add all the ingredients in a large pot and braise the pork belly for 1 hour.
- Cut the cooked pork belly into thinly sliced pieces and enjoy it with a pea-sized ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste) or kimchi wrapped around with fresh lettuce!
