Grilled pork belly is the most popular and common Korean BBQ dish. Because cooking and eating is done at the same time at the table, you have great fun together with friends and family while enjoying the interaction of cooking to order and immediate taste satisfaction. The perfect way to enjoy Korean style pork belly (Samgyupsal) is to simply wrap the meat with lettuce and a pea-sized amount of ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste). Fully fermented Kimchi is a perfect match with this dish.
Note: Store below 5 °C. Consume or freeze on the day of delivery.
INSTRUCTIONS (Cook Time: PAN FRY about 8-10 minutes/ serves 2)
- Bring a frying-pan to high heat.
- Cook the meat for about 2 minutes each side and lower the heat to medium and cook for further 3-4 minutes until the pork belly turns into a wonderful brown colour.
- Put the lettuce, meat and ssamjang in order on your palm and gently wrap. Try to have it in one go as this is very typical Korean culture when eating BBQ.
- You can also enjoy with grilled Kimchi and other assorted vegetable such as sliced garlic, green chilli and spring onions.
